Some fish can climb, and it turns out the rare bumblebee catfish is one of them.

Thousands of bumblebee catfish were spotted migrating up a waterfall in Brazil by environmental military police and scientists. The bumblebee catfish is a small, colorful fish with blotches on its body and fins. Scientists think the mature fish may have been climbing upstream to spawn (deposit their eggs).

How the bumblebee catfish climbs waterfalls remains unknown. But the researchers wonder if it might be using its belly to create a small suction effect to stick to the vertical rocks.
