Froghoppers are a type of spittlebug. Baby froghoppers — called nymphs — feed on plant juices. To protect themselves from predators and to avoid drying out, froghoppers cover themselves in a bubble fortress. They make the bubbles from sap, pee, and air, which they push out their rear end.
