Loch Craignish, a marine inlet on Scotland’s west coast, suffered decades of overfishing and pollution that devastated local marine life. Then a community group called Seawilding stepped in to help restore the loch.

Seawilding aims to reintroduce 1 million native oysters and restore 40 hectares of seagrass habitat. So far, they have reintroduced 350,000 oysters and planted 400,000 seagrass seeds. Fish and other creatures are living in these restored habitats. This is a powerful example of how community groups can help restore damaged ecosystems.
