The Smallest Feline: Rusty-Spotted Cat (Prionailurus rubiginosus)

The rusty-spotted cat is the world's smallest species of feline weighing between 2 and 3.5 pounds. They live solely in India and Sri Lanka feeding on small rodents and frogs. These small nocturnal cats are threatened mostly by habitat loss, which can result in inbreeding within the population. The culmination of all these effects has led to their listing as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.
