Owl butterfly

The owl butterfly employs a form of mimicry to protect itself from being eaten. It has a large "eye-spot" to confuse predators when they attack. The eye-spot is mistaken for the eye of an owl.




The Mongabay Kids site (kids.mongabay.com) aims to help children learn about rainforests and the environment.
