Clear-winged butterfly
Some butterflies have transparent wings to make them less visible to preators. The butterfly in this picture is feeding on animal dung. Dung can provide important nutrients. In the rainforest few resources are wasted -- everything is recycled.
The Mongabay Kids site (kids.mongabay.com) aims to help children learn about rainforests and the environment.
