The Smallest Penguin: Little Penguin (Eudyptula minor)

Reaching heights of about 13 inches, the Little or "Fairy" Penguin is indigenous to the coasts of Southern Australia and New Zealand. These birds are at sea all day hunting fish, squid, and any other small animals through pursuit diving. The major threat to their population is predation from cats, foxes, reptiles, ferrets, and stoats. While the numbers of these 3 pound animals are decreasing, they are still list under Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.
