The Smallest Fish: Paedocypris (Paedocypris)

This tiny fish species can be found in the ocean waters surrounding Malaysia and Indonesia. When fully mature, the species ranges in size from about 6-10 mm, or about the size of a mosquito, with the males being substantially smaller than the females. The small size of these transparent fish helps them to survive extreme conditions, such as droughts and waters with a pH as low as 2.9.
