The North American wolves -- the biggest -- weigh up to 80 pounds Wolves have a complex social hierarchy within their pack, consisting of a mating pair, their offspring, and a few other hunters. Packs range from 5-11 animals, with the biggest on record containing 42 wolves. Wolves demonstrate their remarkable problem solving in the wild, especially when it comes to hunting and feeding behaviors.
